The Assignment
At Contribute, our software factory runs on three powerful engines: Team-as-a-Service, project work and staffing. But to keep that machine running truly efficiently, we need something crucial: one central reporting tool that tells us at a glance where we stand.
What’s the mission?
You’ll build a brand-new APEX application that serves as our internal reporting tool. Starting from a fully worked-out functional plan (complete with wireframes and everything else), you’ll get to work developing a visually strong and user-friendly tool. Don’t worry, you won’t be doing this alone! You’ll get support wherever you need it, but we’ll also leave plenty of room for your own ideas and creativity.
With your application, you’ll help us gain insight into things like:
- The number of hours worked per client vs. the allocated budget
- Who’s working on which project and how much time has been spent on it
- How the budget compares to the actual costs
- The progress of our roadmap against the planned deadlines
What will you learn?
- Thinking like a consultant: how do you build a tool that actually works in practice?
- Hands-on experience with Oracle APEX
- Working with real business data and KPIs
- Translating functional analysis into a fully-fledged app
- Building visualizations and dashboards
- Collaborating with an experienced development team
Who’s this for?
- You’re studying Applied Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field
- You have a passion for development and an eye for usability
- And most importantly: you want to build something during your internship that will actually be used afterward!
